I am a long-time writer of fiction, exposition, articles, poetry, and song, and a dedicated editor with a critical eye. Interviews, research, and a broad perspective feed my non-fiction work, along with a background in marketing and branding that I bring to a piece when called for. Whether composing or editing, from books to magazines to web content, my first goal is to reflect the heart of the subject and draw in readers with a unique voice and connection that holds their interest. I believe in the power of tone and voice, and original ideas and content. Communication, respect, appreciation, humor, human and animal rights, and honesty are at the core of my belief system.

When not at my desk I am busy running, cooking, practicing yoga, drinking wine, and enjoying food, nature, true friendships, bright colors, subtlety, dark edgy humor, literature, and my family. I'm a music lover, diehard flower photographer, film junkie, book nerd, grammar enthusiast, and secret introvert, with lifelong roots in suburban Philadelphia.

Terms and Rates

Terms

I believe that communication, transparency, and trust are at the root of all collaborative creative work. I offer my rates and terms up front, and honor them. Here's how it works:

  • Before you entrust me with your project, you'll get a complimentary consult via email or by phone to determine your needs. 
  • Once we agree to work together, I'll send you a simple contract outlining that agreement. The contract will include hourly rates, a timeline for delivery, and any other details we've agreed upon. 
  • A timeline for completing proofreading services is fairly straightforward. Time for completion for creative work may require more flexibility. This will be indicated in your contract. 
  • After you sign and return the contract, you'll provide any necessary materials that I need to begin. 
  • Communication is encouraged. You'll be welcome to check in with me or offer thoughts throughout any projects, but I will keep you regularly informed on my progress without prompting, especially for longer-term or lengthier projects. 
  • Payment will be due upon the project's completion and delivery, via PayPal, Venmo, or check, as noted in your contract.


Rates

Once we decide on an hourly rate as defined in your contract, all work for your project, including interviews, research, and composition, is completed at this rate. For all services, if indicated in your contract, you may request or suggest changes after the delivery of my initial draft.

Writing and Marketing Services - $40-$80 Hourly

Writing and marketing services are variable and rates are dependent on the complexity, length, and stages of the project. Your project may call for interviews, research, or meetings, before or during the composition of copy. 

    Editing Services - $40-$70 Hourly

    Editing may require a further discussion after your complimentary consultation, to determine the goals of your project. Generally, shorter pieces will be able to be edited at a lower hourly rate.

      Proofreading Services - $30-$60 Hourly

      Proofreading is a simple, straightforward service. The length and nature of your project will define your hourly rate.
